As I mentioned yesterday, we were incredibly energized for Angela & Jerry’s wedding. It didn’t hurt that the Starbucks downstairs offered us a nice morning pick-me-up, either. As we gathered up Angela’s accessories and headed down to the lobby of the hotel, our biggest problem at that moment was to figure out how to shoot the details in a different way from the day before. If I was on twitter, I would probably add #weddingphotographerproblems. And this is where I laugh out loud at my own stupid joke.

Either the hotel staff was busy the day before or we somehow remained undetected, but on this particular morning and a fairly displeased lady came up to us inquiring as to what we were doing. Now, we’ve shot in the lobby dozens of times on a wedding day and have never been stopped, so I was probably a lot more taken aback by this inquisition that I should have been. And when she asked me what the bride’s last name was, I, of course, blanked. I somehow uttered Jerry’s last name: it’s Smith.  Are you laughing? Because there’s nothing like looking-like-you’re-guilty-when-you’re-not and then not-remembering-the-bride’s-last-name-while-being-interrogated and finally stammering-a-fairly-generic-last-name-like-you-really-are-guilty. The lady looked suspicious and asked us to wait for what seemed like an eternity.

At the time of questioning, it was just Hugo and I with the dress. Vivian was still off in a side hallway working on the smaller details. As Hugo and I waited for THE DECISION, I alerted Vivian as to what was going on and asked her to keep going but to stay fairly hidden. We were given the thumbs up to continue shooting since our story checked out. By this point, Vivian was done and we spent maybe five minutes finishing up with the dress. Phew, because it was time to get Angela into that gorgeous dress!

We met up with Jerry at the church. Hello Jerry!!

We arranged for their first look to be in front of the church. I loved the idea of them meeting in the middle and they did too.

If you notice the gentleman texting, he decided he really wanted to stand there so we just incorporated him. Sometimes moving three feet to the left is a difficult task, but I digress.

We loved everything about Angela’s bouquet: the colors .. the textures … it was just amazing loveliness in one place!
