The three musketeers hit up the Texas State Fair yesterday. (We were minus Janelle, who had an un-fun time dealing with a flat tire yesterday. Miss you Janelle!!!!!).

It’s funny how everybody has a different agenda for the fair and ours was, well, primarily to eat. I had asked on facebook what the ‘must haves’ were so I had a great basis to start. And really, the great thing about going with a group is that you can decide to share the yummies and experience so much more than you would on your own!

We started the morning with our usual dose of silly between trying to find each other at the multitude of gates, holding turkey legs for other fair-goers, and being asked if we wanted to ride in a man’s tractor. Seriously. “Hey, ladies, wanna ride my little tractor?”. Wow.

We started by visiting the animals, which is something I don’t think I have ever done before. There were goats  … and zebras … and turtles … and birds … and donkies .. and piggies … and a kangaroo! I have never seen a kangaroo in real life before!

These signs can be cracking up “Stroking a cat or kitten can make you  forget a lot of problems.” What?!

“Ducks can be produced for meat, but most are raised for personal pleasure”. Who writes this stuff?

My favorite goat and piggie (left). My first corny dog at the fair (right). So I wore this super cheesy, grammatically incorrect tshirt for sh!ts and giggles. Remember the tshirt, it will be important later in this post.

Now think back to my tshirt. The guy at the sticky buns place told me his buns were better than mine. I laughed and we got a free sticky bun to devour.

We ended up eating two more items that we didn’t get a picture of – fried oreos & buffalo chicken in a flipjack. Both got an enthusiastic thumbs up, I think we were just too busy eating them to take a picture!
