“We want you to be able to really enjoy our wedding day, feeling truly present and in the moment with us. We’ve hired an amazing wedding photographer named who will be capturing the way the wedding looks — and we’re inviting each of you to sit back, relax, and just enjoy how the wedding feels. We’re respectfully asking that everyone leave ALL CAMERAS and CELL PHONES off during the ceremony and the “ceremonial parts” of the reception, including the first dance, parent dances and cake cutting. We ask you to refrain so we can see your face and you can see ours, both now and forever in the photos that our photographer will capture.  Of course we will happy to share our wedding photos with you afterward!”

Many, many months ago, I posted a little blurb on facebook that I shared from Ryan Brenizer’s  facebook page. Ryan had recently attended a wedding where the guests were urged to unplug : to turn off their cell phones and to put down their point and shoots. At the time, it was a blurb that elicited an “AMEN” from my photographer friends but what I didn’t know was that months later I would find it lovingly displayed at Kim & Tom’s wedding. Kim & Tom had seen my post and they wanted to share that sentiment with their guests. And we loved that, can I get an “AMEN”?
