My DC trip started with the beautiful Anderson family on Saturday morning.  Madeline has grown so much from that sweet sleeping newborn to a running, giggling, playful little girl.

More than anything, my session with the Anderson family left me with a funny little tale to tell. Halfway through the session when Madeline began to get fussy and we happened to be away from the large crowds of people, Mary sat down on the grass to feed her. Nathan had draped his jacket over Mary for a little additional privacy and this older couple walked by us a few minutes later. She looked at my camera and inquired “if I take my shirt off will you take pictures of me under the cherry blossoms?”

I stood there stunned for a split second and realized what she was thought was going. She thought I was taking topless pictures of Mary under the trees!

“Um …” I stammered, “well she’s breastfeeding, so …”

The poor woman turned beet red and ran off with her husband letting out a hearty laugh. And we all laughed too and continued to make jokes throughout the session. Sorry, lady, but that was kind of ridiculous!
