I’m going to tell you a funny story, because this is my blog and I can. Plus, I think you all know me well enough to know that perfectly silly things happen to me all the time.

I was contacted by the patriarch of a family requesting a large family portrait. It had to be on a specific day that the family was gathering, and they were renting an AirBNB in Willow Park, Texas. Now I’m sure that a very small percentage of my North Texas friends actually know where Willow Park is. I had no idea personally. But let me tell you – it’s just a bit west of Fort Worth, and is on the way to Weatherford, and I’m positive 99% of you locals have driven through it on I-20. But I digress.

Our family patriarch really wanted one large family picture and wanted to make sure it was in focus. I got you, sir, I said. Well, in professional photographer speak, I assured him they would all be in focus and, of course, and being particularly nosy that day, I asked why. He made a quick comment about receiving a soft copy of the last family portrait and I made my assurance a second time.

A few hours later, I get a call from another family member, who happens to be a professional commercial photographer and we talk shop. We get into the nitty gritty details and it’s lovely to geek out with a peer for a minute or two. So myself and this professional-photographer-family-member have established a good rapport at this point and I ask about the blurry picture mentioned above. He laughs. So this guy I’m talking to on the phone was the one who took it. He laughs, again. He assures me it was in focus. He proceeds to laugh.

And I’m stone cold silent, because I am so damn great at being nosy at the wrong times.

So without further ado, a large family, not blurry, in Willow Park, Texas.
